Social Site TagSum.com In Beta

If you are a long time reader of my blog, you know how much I like to post about the launch of new social networking sites. I recently had the opportunity to speak with the founders of TagSum.com, the latest in the long line of social sites, and I think you will find this to be an awesome design. I was fortunate enough to have the following written by one of TagSum’s designers:

We have worked long and hard, but we finally launched our beta web 2.0 application and framework. We spent the past several months designing and building a system from the ground up that is both flexible and scalable. We used mysql clustering and replication along with memcache for storing database queries in memory. We designed a flexible xml language system so we can port our site across the world in multiple languages, and we created a framework for what we think will be a series of innovative ideas to help people find information easier online The bulk of our features are still under development, but here are some slides that show off our current features to give you an idea of what our site has to offer.

I will let the slides speak for themselves:

As you can see above, we have some innovative ideas in place to help you connect with like minded people. We’ve got the foundation in place to become a social search engine because everything is tag based and thus very flexible compared to traditional categories. So stop by, take the tour again, register, and start posting stories, voting on elements, and connect with people! http://www.tagsum.com

p.s. Watch TagSum this week for the release of some new features, and a revenue sharing platform for webmasters

Knowing the folks behind this awesome site, I am sure that success is eminent. Stop by and be sure to look for “rugjeff” and add me as a friend.

Blackhat SEO

As you know I have always had an interest in the art of Blackhat marketing.テつ Not that I approve of such marketing tactics or desire to become involved with their many techniques, I just always marvel at the ability of these individuals constantly beating the search engines.テつ Can you imagine the constant struggle between black hatters and the search engine spiders… a battle of epic proportions.

I recently stumbled upon a forum dedicated solely to those marketers who take part in blackhat marketing.テつ The forum is an excellent place for you to hang out and be a fly on the wall.テつ There are tons of interesting methods that iff toned down just a bit, could greatly and ethically help you both increase traffic to your blog and make some money along the way.

I’m sure many of you will disagree with anything that has to do with blackhat marketing, but how much do you actually know about it?テつ Have you researched it enough to develop your own opinion or are you just going along with the crowd?

The days of cloaking and keyword stuffing are long gone.テつ You may be surprised at some of the techniques these young guns are using to beat the search engines.テつ And I guarantee that you will have a better understanding at what it takes to rank well after spending just a few short minutes in this blackhat forum.

Have a problem with Blackhat marketing?テつ If so, tell me why.テつ I know my reasons… give me yours.

Good luck and much success.
