Social Site TagSum.com In Beta

If you are a long time reader of my blog, you know how much I like to post about the launch of new social networking sites. I recently had the opportunity to speak with the founders of TagSum.com, the latest in the long line of social sites, and I think you will find this to be an awesome design. I was fortunate enough to have the following written by one of TagSum’s designers:

We have worked long and hard, but we finally launched our beta web 2.0 application and framework. We spent the past several months designing and building a system from the ground up that is both flexible and scalable. We used mysql clustering and replication along with memcache for storing database queries in memory. We designed a flexible xml language system so we can port our site across the world in multiple languages, and we created a framework for what we think will be a series of innovative ideas to help people find information easier online The bulk of our features are still under development, but here are some slides that show off our current features to give you an idea of what our site has to offer.

I will let the slides speak for themselves:

As you can see above, we have some innovative ideas in place to help you connect with like minded people. We’ve got the foundation in place to become a social search engine because everything is tag based and thus very flexible compared to traditional categories. So stop by, take the tour again, register, and start posting stories, voting on elements, and connect with people! http://www.tagsum.com

p.s. Watch TagSum this week for the release of some new features, and a revenue sharing platform for webmasters

Knowing the folks behind this awesome site, I am sure that success is eminent. Stop by and be sure to look for “rugjeff” and add me as a friend.
