New Bloggers Can’t Be Humble

So you finally gotten with the rest of the world and started a blog. There are hundreds of resources plastered all over the net that will help you build a long lasting successful blog. But I want to concentrate on one aspect that is sometimes a little difficult for the beginning blogger.

You cannot be humble as it pertains to your new blog. If you want to build blog traffic and increase your readership, it is vital that you introduce your blog to the world. Tell anyone and everyone, online and off, just how wonderful your new blog is and how they can’t afford to miss any of your world changing posts.

Many bloggers just follow the simple steps of building traffic: Writing good content, posting in related niche forums, article marketing, pinging, social bookmarking, commenting on other blogs, etc… But most of us have a hard time really promoting our blogs through direct contact with other bloggers.

How many of you have actually contacted another high PR blogger letting them know about the great content at your new site. Blogging is all about connecting and networking with other like minded individuals, so this should be a marketing technique that is never overlooked. You may be surprised by the results of your newly found ego.

I can tell you from experience, just following the everyday marketing tactics will not help you become an elite blogger. In order to take the next step, you really need to promote yourself to highly influential bloggers in hopes that, one day, they will tell their readers about the newest blog on the block.

Imagine if a blog like Problogger.net wrote a short review of your new blog. Could you imagine the traffic and immediate jump start to your blogging career? If you want high reward from your blog you must be will to take high risks. And to many, contacting other powerful bloggers is just that, too risky.

Don’t be cocky when introducing your new blog, but do be confident. Send out a few emails to high traffic, high PR bloggers and introduce them to your blog. Build quality relationships first and watch your blog traffic and exposer grow exponentially.
